Summary:
|
Paloma Valley High School’s Achievement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Coordinator, Beatriz O’Connell, is in the process of planning AVID's annual Southern California college trip for its junior and senior members. The students will be visiting 7-8 college campuses over the two-day trip. Some of the seniors have applied to a few of these campuses and would like to visit them before they make their decision. The list of colleges they plan to visit is as follows:
Day #1: Azusa Pacific University, La Verne University, CSU Los Angeles, Griffith Observatory.
Day #2: UCLA, CSU Long Beach, Chapman University.
Other campuses to attend if time allows: CSU Northridge, Woodbury University, and CSU Fullerton.
Fifty students and five adults will be transported by a charter bus, which will be paid by site ASB AVID funds and fundraising. Students will be fundraising to cover the cost for their lodging and food. The cost to attend this trip will be $150 per person. The estimated cost excluding transportation will be no more than $7,500.

The cost for this item is included in the 2017-18 operating budget funded through PVHS’s ASB/AVID account and student funds.
