Summary: The Perris Union High School District (PUHSD) contracts annually with the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools (RCSS) in order to assure network connectivity and provide internet access and bandwidth to the Corporation for Educational Network Initiatives in California (CENIC) K12-High Speed Network, and provide information systems support services for the District.

RCSS’s responsibilities for 2018-19 under this agreement include:

1) Equipment
2) Connection to CalREN-DC hub
3) Access to RCOE’s equipment location
4) Node site contacts
5) Technical support
6) Notifications
7) Communications
8) Requests from DHS, DOJ, and other Federal and/or State Agencies for monitoring and/or equipment access
9) E-Rate compliance audits of equipment and/or circuits
Network management services
10) Standard Galaxy support
11) Report processing and distribution
12) Standard RCOE training support
13) Standard retirement reporting and support
14) Electronic Time and Attendance

The term of this Agreement will be from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019. The cost for internet services, network management, and information systems support for the 2018-19 school year is based on 2017-18 CALPADS student enrollment (9,844 for the District and 1,049 for the California Military Institute). The District’s portion of services is $96,626.85. The cost for the California Military Institute’s (CMI) portion of services is $9,928.15, which will be billed as a direct cost to CMI per the Memorandum of Understanding between the District and CMI.

This Contract is being brought forward as a ratification due to untimely receipt from the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools.

Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify Agreement IN40295 with the Riverside County Office of Education for Network and Internet Access.
