Summary:
|
California has the world's sixth-largest economy and the highest gross domestic product of any state. Yet, we rank near the bottom nationally in funding for public schools, a status that threatens the prosperity of our state and the strength of our communities. While California lags behind most of the country in public school funding, school districts and county offices of education are facing increased financial pressure from rapidly rising costs. It's time that California end decades of underinvestment in public schools and provide the resources needed to offer all students a high-quality education.
