Andrew Ellis, Heritage High School Swim Coach, was honored to take one of Heritage High School's swim team members to the CIF state swimming tournament on May 18-20, 2017. In order to participate in this event, students must qualify with high marks in a statewide ranking during the school year’s swimming events. This year, Heritage High School (HHS) had their first athlete qualify to attend the CIF tournament which was held at Clovis West High School on May 18-20, 2017.
Ms. Katelyn Thomas is a junior at HHS and was excited to not only make it to the tournament but to be the first swimmer to represent HHS at the state level. While she did not make it onto the finals, HHS was proud to have her represent the team. This was quite a feat with the short time that HHS has had a swim team.
This item is coming to the Board of Trustees for ratification due to the fact that Ms. Thomas was notified that she qualified to compete after the close of the May 17, 2017 agenda timeline.
