Summary: On April 30, 2019, the California Military Institute Charter School and the California Military Institute Teachers Association (CMITA) reached a Tentative Agreement (TA). Subsequently, the TA was ratified by CMITA on May 13, 2019.

In addition to changes in language regarding evaluations, the Agreement includes a one-time off-schedule payment equal to two percent (2%) of employee’s 2018-19 base salary placement as of May 1, 2019, for all unit members in paid status as of May 1, 2019. This off-schedule payment shall be paid in one (1) installment in June 2019.

Effective July 1, 2019, an ongoing two-percent (2%) increase shall be applied to all salary schedules.

Effective July 2020, an additional ongoing two-percent (2%) increase shall be applied to all salary schedules.

Negotiations for compensation and benefits shall be closed for 2019-20 and 2020-21.

Additionally, the following stipends shall be added to the stipend list:

AVID Coordinator: four percent (4%); Chemical Hygiene Officer: one and a half percent (1.5%); Link Crew Coordinator: four percent (4%); and WEB Coordinator: four percent (4%).
Funding: The cost is included in the 2018-19 budget.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Tentative Agreement between the California Military Institute and the California Military Institute Teachers Association.
