Summary:
|
The Perris Union High School District and The University of Phoenix are interested in renewing their School Affiliation Agreement. The District shall provide counseling, administration, teaching, and/or observation experiences, as well as mentoring teachers in schools and classes of the District for students of the University. The University will reimburse the District for each mentoring teacher at a rate of $30 per week.
The term of this multi-year Agreement shall be from May 18, 2017 through June 30, 2021.
Pursuant to California Education Codes 44321 and 44452, a school district governing board is authorized to enter into an agreement with a state university or any university or college accredited by the State Board of Education as a teacher education institution in order to provide teaching experience through student teaching to students enrolled in teacher training curricula.

The budget will be adjusted to reflect this revenue.

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the multi-year School Affiliation Agreement with the University of Phoenix.
