Summary:
|
The District entered into a multi-year Student Teaching Agreement with California State Polytechnic University of Pomona (Cal Poly) beginning on July 1, 2017 and terminating June 30, 2020. Cal Poly has extended Amendment No. 1 and No. 2 to revise the Agreement as their academic year has transitioned from quarters to semesters.
Amendment No. 1 updates the duration of practice teaching from an amount of time not-to-exceed eleven (11) weeks to sixteen (16) weeks. Amendment No. 1 also increases the rate of pay to the District from $150.00 to $250.00 per student teacher.
Amendment No. 2 defines the Cal Poly programs applicable to the Student Teaching Agreement. This Amendment also updates all references of “Quarter” to “Semester” to accommodate for the changes to Cal Poly’s academic year.
Pursuant to California Education Code 44320(b) a school district governing board is authorized to enter into an agreement with a state university or any university or college accredited by the State Board of Education as a teacher education institution, in order to provide teaching experience through student teaching to students enrolled in teacher training curricula.
