Grant Bennett, Superintendent, and Joseph Williams, Executive Director of Technology are requesting that the Board of Trustees ratify their attendance at the 2017 Education Week Leaders to Learn recognition event in Washington, DC, March 30-31, 2017.
Joseph Williams was selected as a Leader to Learn From after a nationwide search of exceptional school district leaders. Education Week stated that “these leading-edge district leaders seized on smart ideas, executed them skillfully, and are seeing promising results for students and school communities.”
This out-of-state conference request is being taken to the Board as a ratification due to missing the board deadline for agenda items.

The cost for this item is included in the 2016-17 operating budget funded through Title 1 Professional Development funding, not the General Fund.
