Summary:
|
The District has identified the need to conduct roofing repair, removal of asbestos roofing materials and installation of new roofing materials, at several District school sites.
Public Contract Code section 22032 permits Districts that have elected to become subject to the Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Procedures to procure contracts expected to cost more than $200,000 through a formal bidding procedure. The District reasonably expected the cost of the Project would exceed $200,000 and therefore in May 2019 issued a formal bid and the required forms of notice and publication as required by Public Contract Code section 22037. The District received four (4) bids, and Bell Roof Company, Inc. was determined to be the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. The total cost for the remediation and installation services is $214,902.00.
It is also recommended that the Board of Trustees delegate to the Superintendent’s designee, the Deputy Superintendent of Business Services, Candace Reines, the authority to finalize, execute, and deliver the Contract on behalf of the District.

The cost for this item will be included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through the Routine Restricted Maintenance Fund, not the General Fund.
