Summary:
|
The District currently provides services to approximately 1,330 students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Although the District offers most services to students, we do not offer all services to students. The District contracts annually with the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools through the Riverside County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) for visual impairment services, deaf and hard of hearing services, orthopedic impairment services, intensive behavior intervention services, and services for students with extreme intellectual disabilities. Riverside County also supports us with home hospital teachers if there is a need or student that requires extensive support. The Riverside County Superintendent of Schools has extensive services for students with these disabilities and continues to do an excellent job of servicing our students.
The term of this Agreement for Intra-SELPA educational services will be for one year from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. The estimated cost for these services, based upon current projected enrollment, is $274,803. The breakdown of these costs is detailed on page 5 of the attached Agreement.
This Agreement is being taken to the Board as a ratification due to the untimely receipt of the contract from the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools.
Pursuant to California Education Code C 56195.1(e), a SELPA member LEA may contract with another SELPA member LEA for special education programs/services.

The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through Special Education, Fund 06.

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify Agreement IN40134 with the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools for Intra-SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) Educational Services.
