Azusa Pacific MOU for Educational Fieldwork.pdf
Summary: The Perris Union High School District and Azusa Pacific University are requesting ratification to enter into a multi-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Azusa Pacific University (APU) for educational fieldwork. APU is now using a MOU that covers the many types of field experience and clinical practice offered through the School of Education. The attached MOU includes language specific to the following experiences: Student Teaching, Intern Teaching, Clear/Induction Field Experience, School Counseling and School Psychology Field Work, School Counseling and School Psychology Intern Experience, Administrative Services Preliminary Field Experience, Administrative Services Intern Experience, and Administrative Services Clear Field Experience.

APU will pay the District at the rate of $200 for each full-time student teacher. “Full-time student teaching” is an assignment for the regular school day for the full 18-week public school semester, including all duties normally performed by a teacher.

The term of this MOU will be from January 14, 2017 through June 30, 2022.

This Agreement is being taken to the Board as a ratification due to the untimely receipt of the contract from Azusa Pacific University.

Pursuant to California Education Codes 44321 and 44452, a school district governing board is authorized to enter into an agreement with a state university or any university or college accredited by the State Board of Education as a teacher education institution in order to provide teaching experience through many types of field experience to students enrolled in teacher training curricula.
Funding: The budget will be adjusted to reflect this revenue.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify the multi-year memorandum of understanding with Azusa Pacific University for educational fieldwork.
