Summary: In preparation for distance learning, the District provided an opportunity for 150 District Educators to take part in online training for Leading Edge Certification (LEC) Flex training through the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE).

Leading Edge Flex offers educators a self-guided path professional learning to engage, anytime, anywhere, through this online certification program. Teachers experience online professional learning and earn certification backed by a national alliance of nonprofits, universities, and educational agencies. Leading Edge provides teachers with core modules along with elective modules to select from based on your role and focus area.

This program is a self-paced, online, annual subscription hosted on the personalized learning platform of Alludo that brings together the content from the three pathways: LEC for the Administrator, LEC for the Professional Learning Leader, and LEC for the Digital Educator (with content from the Online and Blended Teacher).

The term of the Agreement shall be from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

This contract is being brought forward as a ratification due to the need to start training prior to the start of the school year and the untimely receipt of the Agreement from RCOE.

Costs for California Military Institute (CMI) Educators who participate in this training will be billed as a direct cost to CMI per the Memorandum of Understanding between the District and CMI.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2020-21 operating budget funded through the Federal CARES Act Learning Loss Mitigation Fund, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify Agreement IN60233 with Riverside County Office for Leading Edge Certification.
