Summary:
|
Brian Dirkswager, Yearbook Club Advisor at the California Military Institute (CMI), is submitting an overnight field trip request for the Board’s consideration and approval for three (3) CMI yearbook students to go on an overnight trip to the 2017 Summer Yearbook Workshop Camp at Chapman University in Orange, California on July 22-25, 2017.
Students will attend one of the following yearbook workshops:
1) Yearbook I or II
2) Photography I or II
3) Editorial Leadership
4) Editorial Layout
5) Design Writing.
In addition, the students will be participating in Team Building Activities. The Advisor will receive veteran advisor training and networking with other advisors.
Rooming: Students will stay in dorm rooms at Chapman University. Rooms will be assigned by gender and school (boys and girls will not be rooming together). All meals are provided by the camp. Cost will be $399 per student attendee, $489 per advisor, for a total cost of $2,175.
Transportation to and from the workshop will be provided by a District vehicle for the three students and two adult chaperones.
