Summary:
|
The District entered into a Clinical Affiliation Agreement with West Coast University (WCU). The reason for this Agreement is to provide a nursing internship affiliation that is a mutually beneficial experience. Nursing students from WCU get to fulfill a clinical requirement by getting exposure in a school setting, and the District receives nursing assistance with vision and hearing screenings.
The term of this Agreement will span November 28, 2018 to June 30, 2020 with the option to renew for up to three, one (1) year terms upon mutual written Agreement.
This Agreement is being brought forward as a ratification due to the need to place WCU nursing students in a clinical setting prior to the next Board meeting.
Pursuant to California Education Codes 44321 and 44452, a school district governing board is authorized to enter into an agreement with a state university or any university or college accredited by the State Board of Education as a teacher education institution in order to provide teaching experience through many types of field experience to students enrolled in teacher training curricula.
