Summary:
|
The California Military Institute would like to enter into an Agreement for online tutoring and essay review services with Paper Education Company for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school year. These services provide a chat-based tutoring service and actionable insights through an online platform for students during the Distance Learning phase and upon returning to a traditional learning model. Each online educator, a Paper Education Company Employee, undergoes a criminal background check prior to employment.
Services offered are:
-Socratic teaching method
-24/7 unlimited service in English and now Spanish
-Available on any device (IOS or Android)
-Free teacher/Administrator accounts
-Provides students with Essay Review, where students can upload any piece of written work and receive an annotated version of their work within twenty-four hours.
Paper Education will connect to CMI’s existing infrastructure with automatic class rostering through our Student Information System (SIS), with school specific course names and codes and no new passwords necessary.
The term of this Agreement shall be from August 20, 2020 through August 19, 2022.

The cost for this item is included in the 2020-21 operating budget funded through Learning Loss Mitigation Funds, not the General Fund.
