Summary: Perris Union High School District executive administrative team requested an assessment of the current state of teaching, learning, and technology integration across the district.

Dr. Marilyn Saucedo, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, reached out to the Mobile Technology Learning Center (MTLC). Researchers from MTLC conducted a 360° Needs Assessment to examine the existing structures and systems in the district and to make recommendations to support the district in realizing its vision.

A vision statement sets an organization’s long-term goals and aspirations clearly and concisely. A vision statement is intended to inspire and motivate the organization’s workforce by providing a picture of where the organization is heading.

A mission statement defines the organization’s key purpose. It summarizes what the organization does and why. It also sets out how the organization conducts its business and identifies key stakeholders, such as parents, students, customers and employees. A mission statement helps employees understand where their contribution fits into the organization’s objectives.

Much time, research, and consideration has been spent on the development of a vision and mission statement for the Perris Union High School District. The development of vision and mission statements is an essential part of the strategic management process. Having clearly defined the vision and mission of the district, administrators then can set strategic objectives that are aligned with the district’s long-term goals. Administrators translate these strategic objectives into an operational strategy that can be implemented, monitored and evaluated.

Dr. Saucedo will make a presentation to the Board of Trustees to discuss the new District vision and mission statements.
