Summary: The District would like to use the services of Unity Plus to implement and promote the 40 Developmental Asset Trainings for teachers and staff at each school site.

The Consultant shall provide the following services to teachers and staff in the District:

1) 40 Developmental Asset Trainings at each school site.

2) Unity Site Trainings will provide opportunities to work with students and counselors regarding school safety, bullying, diversity awareness, use of drugs and alcohol, suicide and other issues facing today’s youth. Students will learn strategies on how to overcome and endure personal life issues that they deal with every day.

3) Support Services to sites and the Educational Services Department, as well as act as a liaison between the Riverside County Office of Education and the District.

The total amount of the proposed services will not exceed $29,600.

The term of this Agreement will be August 21, 2018 through June 30, 2019.

Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through Title I, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement for Professional Consultant Services with Unity Plus for implementation and promotion of developmental asset trainings for teachers and staff.
