Summary:

Kerry Bobbitt, Student Information Systems Supervisor, and Beth Heyden, Secretary II/Instructional Data Support would like to attend the Tableau Conference from October 21-24, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The conference includes four days of best practices, intensive trainings, sneak peeks of future releases and networking opportunities with other Tableau users.
In addition to breakout sessions and real-world case studies from global companies, there is also the unique opportunity to meet one-on-one with Tableau developers and experts to:
• Answer specific questions they have about Tableau
• Optimize their data connections and security
• Learn new tips and tricks to save time and money
The Tableau Conference is a cost-effective way to ensure the District is maximizing our Tableau investment. In four days, Ms. Zierold and Mr. Bobbitt will have access to:
• 400+ hours of educational sessions from Tableau executives, developers, product experts and other customers.
Topics covered include:
• Big Data
• Data Storytelling and Presentations
• Working with various types of data
• Statistics and Forecasting
• Keynote presentations covering the latest trends and top-of-mind questions.
• Up to one hour of private one-on-one consultation with Tableau developers and product experts.
Tableau is offering a number of networking opportunities where they can exchange ideas with people who have the same role or issues. Deeply discounted prices on additional Tableau training and certification offerings are also available.
Total cost for both Mr. Bobbitt and Ms. Heyden to attend the training is approximately $6,000. These costs include registration, transportation, housing, and meals.

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the out-of-state conference request for Kerry Bobbitt, Student Information Systems Supervisor, and Beth Heyden, Secretary II/Instructional Data Support, to attend the Tableau Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 22-25, 2018.
