Summary: The Perris Union High School District would like to contract with Solution Tree, Incorporated for professional development services in order to build capacity among site teachers and administration in creating effective Professional Learning Communities at each of our schools. This training is for all PUHSD teachers (including CMI) and will take place during the August professional development days (August 3-4, 2017). The trainings will include a total of four half-day sessions within the two days to accommodate all teachers. Included in the training are specific strategies to facilitate collaborative conversations around student learning, creating common assessments in all content areas, and procedures to support the development of academic interventions for students.

The total cost of services for this agreement is $13,000. The District’s portion of services is $11,747.70, which will be funded through the District’s Educator Effectiveness Grant allocations. The cost for the California Military Institute’s (CMI) portion of services is $1,252.30, which will be funded through CMI’s District’s Educator Effectiveness Grant allocations.

Education Codes 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2017-18 operating budget funded through the District and CMI Educator Effectiveness Grant allocations, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Purchasing Agreement with Solution Tree, Incorporated for professional development services.
