Summary:
|
Pursuant to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Section Part 1117(a)(4)(A)(i), local educational agencies are required to provide fiscal resources to eligible private school children, their parents, their teachers and other school personnel. Eligibility is based upon each private school student’s school district of residency. School districts are required to ensure timely and meaningful consultation with private school officials during the design and development of program services, are accountable for the progress, and must assess the achievement of all private school students receiving services under ESSA.
In an effort to provide comprehensive services for eligible students attending St. James Catholic School, PUHSD has reached out to neighboring districts to develop a consortium for those districts responsible for providing Title I Equitable Services. PUHSD will be the lead agency and would assume responsibility for the delivery of services to eligible students. PUHSD will be responsible for invoicing the various districts based on their proportional share of Title I funds.

Recommendation:
|
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the Perris Union High School District, Romoland School District, Lake Elsinore Unified School District, Val Verde Unified School District, Nuview Union School District, Menifee Union School District, and Moreno Valley Unified School District to provide Title I Part A Equitable Services to St. James Catholic School.
