Summary: One of the priorities of the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is that all students will attain level proficiency in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Renaissance is the leader in Pre-K-12 assessment and practice software. Renaissance helps teachers ensure that all students reach their full potential. When using Renaissance, teachers will understand where their students are currently in the California learning progression, what they need to learn next and have access to instruction and practice tools to get them to the next level. The product includes Renaissance Accelerated Reader, Renaissance myON Reader, and Renaissance Star Reading. Renaissance Accelerated Reader engages students in reading practice with authentic books and nonfiction articles. It also strengthens reading skills essential for learning in any subject by practicing with comprehension quizzes and close-reading activities. Renaissance myOn Reader is a student-centered, personalized literacy platform that offers unlimited access to thousands of enhanced digital books. Renaissance Star Reading is the most comprehensive Pre-K-12 interim and formative early literacy, reading and math assessment suite, providing a 360-degree view of student learning.

The term of this Agreement shall be for the 2019-20 school year from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020. The total cost for the software is $13,000.00.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through the Local Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement for Renaissance Assessment and Practice Software.
