File Attachment:
Summary: In November 2016 California’s voters approved Proposition 51 which authorized $9 billion in the sale of general obligation bonds for projects within the State’s School Facilities Program. Included within this authorization is a reservation of $500 million for Career Technical Education projects. On August 23, 2017 the State Allocation Board approved guidelines and timelines for the next round of funding for the Career Technical Education Facilities Program (CTEFP). It is anticipated that applications for funding from this program will need to be filed with the California Department of Education and Office of Public School Construction between September 27th and November 29, 2017.

PUHSD was successful in the past in obtaining CTEFP funds for the planning, design and construction of the Agricultural Resource Center (ARC) at Heritage High School. District staff intends to work closely with Perris High School staff and our District’s CTE representatives to now develop one or more new CTEFP applications for facilities projects at Perris High School to support the agriculture programs that currently serve approximately 830 students. This will include an application for the Perris Agricultural Center for Excellence (PACE) and/or future agricultural facilities. These applications will be presented to the Board for review, discussion and approval prior to submittal to the appropriate State agencies.
Funding: No fiscal impact
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees receive for its review and consideration, this plan to potentially file applications for funding through the Career Technical Education Program Facilities Program (CTEFP) for one or more agriculture related projects at Perris High School.
