Addendum No. 1 - Inland Valley K-9 Detection.pdf
Summary: On June 15, 2016, the Board of Trustees approved a Professional Services Agreement with RT K9 Specialists for Drug Detection Services for the 2016-17 school year. Since entering into the original agreement, the name of the business has changed from RT K9 Specialists to Inland Valley K-9 Detection. Due to utilizing the services more than originally anticipated, the District is now requesting an addendum to the contract to increase the amount by $10,000 to a total of $36,000 for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year. The continued purpose of the visits are:

1. To serve as deterrent to students that may consider bringing drugs on campus

2. To conduct random searches of classrooms to detect possible drugs that are on campus for removal

3. To provide a safe and drug free environment on all campuses

Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2016-17 operating budget funded through the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Addendum No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Inland Valley K-9 Detection for Drug Detection Services.
