Summary:

The Perris High School (PHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA) students have the opportunity to attend the Mid-Winter State Finals at Reedley College, in Reedley, California, March 31 - April 2, 2017.
This event is a career development event in the area of Natural Resources. The event trains students to identify California native plants and also wildlife that is found in California. This team develops skills that students can use with a position in Forestry, Parks and Recreation, Zoology, Veterinary Science, Horticulture/Botany, and more. This is a state finals event but is a new team that PHS has started this year so it will be their first competition. The PHS agricultural teachers believe it is a valuable experience for these students.
This is an overnight field trip of two nights. There are ten students and two adult chaperones that will participate in this trip. The cost is $40 per person. Students will be transported via district vehicles.

The cost for this item is included in the 2016-17 operating budget funded through PHS’s Perkins Grant monies.
