Summary:
|
Perris High School’s Agriculture teacher, Douglas Cousins, is requesting approval by the Board of Trustees for the Future Farmers of America (FFA) students to attend the 2017 National Date Festival and Fair in Indio, California, February 19-26, 2017. Thirty students and three advisors will be spending the week of non-student days in February, preparing and showing the livestock that were born at the Perris High School farm over the summer. By participating in this event, students will be able to interact with community members and market their livestock projects, which will be sold during the fair. The students and advisors will be camping at the fairgrounds. The total cost for students and advisors to camp at the fairgrounds is approximately $100 per person. Students will be doing fundraising to pay for their expenses.

The cost for this item is funded through the PHS Perkins Fund and FFA ASB Livestock Account.
