Summary:

On March 15, 2017, the Board of Trustees approved the adoption of the new math textbooks for all PUHSD current math courses.
Amanda Darton, Teacher on Special Assignment - Math, has been working with the Math SAC (Subject Area Council) which consists of math teacher representatives from each of the school sites to review and rewrite the course of study curriculums pertaining to the new textbook adoption. Each of the revised math courses reflect the use of the new textbook, are aligned to the California State Standards and (for the applicable high school courses) meet the A-G requirements.
The following revised courses are being submitted for first reading:
Middle School - Math 7, Math 7 Support, Math 8, Math 8 Support
Both Middle/High - Intro to Algebra 1, Algebra 1, Algebra 1 Support, Algebra 1A, Algebra 1A Essentials* , Algebra 1B, Algebra 1B Essentials*
High School - Geometry, Algebra 2/Trigonometry, and Statistical Reasoning in Sports (this course was revised to add a pre-requisite)
*Essentials courses are for special accommodation students.
The revised Mathematics courses listed above have been approved by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. Note: Algebra 1, Algebra 1A, Algebra 1B, Geometry, Algebra 2/Trigonometry, and Statistical Reasoning in Sports all meet UC A-G Requirements.

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees receive for review and consideration, as part of the first reading, the revised Mathematics courses: Math 7, Math 7 Support, Math 8, Math 8 Support, Intro to Algebra 1, Algebra 1, Algebra 1 Support, Algebra 1A, Algebra 1A Essentials, Algebra 1B, Algebra 1B Essentials, Geometry, Algebra 2/Trigonometry, and Statistical Reasoning in Sports.
