Summary:
|
Heritage High School drama teacher, Mr. Greg Newman, has submitted an overnight field trip request for drama students to attend the 2020 California State Thespian Conference in Upland, California April 9-11, 2020. The California State Thespian Conference is one of the largest state conferences in the nation. It allows students in the theater arts to compete, attend workshops, and audition for scholarships.
The state conference is being held in Upland, California this year. Events usually go until 9:00 p.m. or later and begin early the next morning, staying overnight eliminates late night travel and keeps students at the event instead of on the road traveling back and forth. The conference lasts three (3) days.
Mr. Newman and two (2) other adults will serve as chaperones and will be taking twenty (20) students this year to the state conference. Transportation will be provided via one of Heritage High School's site vans. The cost of registration is $250 per student.

The cost for this item is included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through Heritage High School Site Funds, not the General Fund.
