Summary:
|
The Special Education Department entered into an Agreement for Professional Consultant Services to provide Educational Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) from October 2, 2017 through November 3, 2017 with a total amount not-to-exceed $9,000. Under this Agreement, StaffRehab has been providing individual therapy and mental health services including report writing, Individual Education Plan (IEP) services, and attendance at IEP meetings. These services were provided to District students who required services according to their IEP.
This Addendum No.1 to the Agreement is being brought to the Board as a ratification due to the resignation of a current ERMHS Therapist as well as waiting for the change in contract for our ERMHS that was approved at the Board meeting on October 18, 2017 to then post for hire. The new ERMHS Therapist position was anticipated to be filled at this time and was not.
The recommendation is to extend the Agreement for another four weeks through December 1, 2017. This would be an increase of $7,200 (at the rate of $90 per hour for 20 hours per week) for a total of $16,200.
Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
