Summary:
|
The District began using Megan Watt for legal services regarding business matters on July 16, 2018, in a contract not to exceed $10,000. Given the high-quality legal support that was received, the District would like to enter into an Agreement for legal services for the remainder of the fiscal year through June 30, 2019. This contract will not increase overall District legal expenses, but rather provide another alternative from the pool of legal resources. The hourly rate for services for 2018-19 will range from $110 to $240 per hour.
Government Code 53060: District may contract with and employ any persons for the furnishing to the special services and advice in financial, economic, accounting, engineering, legal, or administrative matters if such persons are specially trained and experienced and competent to perform the special services required.

The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through the General Fund.
