Summary:
|
Dr. Hilma L. Griffin-Watson, Executive Director, Leadership Institute of Riverside County, RCOE, has been invited to visit the Clark County School District to view first-hand the systemic approach the Clark County School District (CCSD) has engaged in to ensure each of their schools are moving forward on creating and sustaining equitable learning environments. This is their third year of this initiative and they are beginning to see some positive movement during their site visits.
Because of the work that is happening in the Perris Union High School District (PUHSD), Dr. Hilma Griffin-Watson has extended the offer to be a part of the visit to Clark County to Dr. Marilyn Saucedo and/or another member of the District. With regret, Dr. Saucedo and her Educational Services team is unable to commit to this opportunity, so she has asked Mr. Lee Alfred to attend in her place as the District representative, to which Mr. Alfred has agreed.
The school visits will take place on November 30, 2017 at Monaco Middle School, and on December 1, 2017 at Valley High School, concluding with a meeting with the CCSD Equity and Diversity Education Department administrative team.
The reason this item is coming for ratification is due to receiving information after the previous agenda deadline.
