Summary: The Perris Union High School District is recommending approval to enter into a new contract with School Innovation & Advocacy (SI&A) for their Attention2Attendance (A2A) software program to improve the monitoring, tracking and identification of students who are demonstrating poor attendance. A2A is an attendance software program that generates letters and meeting notices for students who are chronically truant or have excessive unexcused absences. These notices are automatically generated on a monthly basis to parents who have children demonstrating poor attendance. Additionally, A2A will monitor students once they are placed on attendance contracts with District personnel in order to determine and evaluate if District interventions are able to improve student attendance.

The annual cost of the Agreement is $67,300 for the 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20 school years.

The total cost per year for the District will be $60,800. The total cost per year for the California Military Institute (CMI) will be $6,500, which will be billed as a direct cost to CMI per the Memorandum of Understanding between the District and CMI.

The term of this Agreement will be July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020.

Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20 operating budgets funded through the Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds and the Charter School.
