Summary:
|
The District requested proposals from Leighton Consulting, Incorporated for the Geohazard investigation and report preparation for the swimming pool projects at Perris High School, Paloma Valley High School, and Heritage High School. The District would like to extend the contract for the Geohazard investigation and report preparation for the three (3) swimming pool projects to Leighton Consulting, Incorporated. Title 24, Part 1, Section 4-335 requires that tests of materials for construction projects under the jurisdiction of the Division of State Architects (DSA) be performed by testing facilities acceptable to DSA. The cost for these services includes a Geotechnical review of foundation plans and specifications and private utility location services. These services are being provided at the following costs:
- Heritage High School - $12,650
- Paloma Valley High School - $17,100
- Perris High School - $5,400
For a total combined cost of: $35,150
The timing of these components of the projects was moved up as a result of ordered school closures and is therefore being brought forward to the Board as a ratification. Ratification is permitted for Board approved facilities projects pursuant to Purchasing Policy.

The cost for this item is included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
