Summary:

Perris High School’s Agriculture teacher, Douglas Cousins, has submitted an overnight field trip request for twenty (20) of Perris High School's Future Farmers of America (FFA) students and three (3) chaperones to attend the Gridley FFA Field Day Competition, which will be held on the Gridley High School campus, in Gridley, California, March 29-31, 2019.
Perris High School's FFA students are a competitive team that prepares students with skills that can be used in the workforce. Our teams spend countless hours practicing and studying to prepare for these events. Each event also has a public speaking component which helps students become more confident in their speaking skills. These teams provide students with the opportunity to acquire skills that can be used in "real life."
The estimated cost is $50 per student for lodging. All expenses will be paid from the Carl D. Perkins Grant and the Agriculture Incentive Grant fund. Transportation will be provided via District vehicles.

The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through Perris High School’s Carl D. Perkins Grant and the Agriculture Incentive Grant, not the General Fund.
