Summary:
|
Per Board Bylaw Policy BB 9330 "The Governing Board shall ordinarily hold membership in and attend meetings of such local, state, regional, and national school board associations as may exist, and shall look upon such memberships as opportunitities for inservice training".
Historically, the Governing School Board and Superintendent have attended out-of-state conferences to obtain inservice training for their respective roles. Because professional development is critical for employees and Governing Board members alike, the Superintendent is recommending the Board approve the conference request.

The cost for this item in included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through the General Fund.

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the out-of-state conference request for Dr. Jose Luis Araux, Dr. Randall Freeman, Edward Garcia, Jr., David Nelissen, and Grant Bennett, Superintendent to attend the National School Boards Association Annual Education Conference in Chicago, Illinois, April 4-6, 2020.
