Summary: The District would like to enter into an Agreement with Reach Out to provide a comprehensive career awareness program to prepare high school students for the professional workplace through training, hands-on practice and career-oriented internships. All activities will be implemented using Inland Health Professions Coalition work-based learning protocols and resources.

Using Reach Out’s Learning Inspired Field Experience program protocols will:

- Provide high school and adult education students 40 hour internship experience
- Develop placement sites between health entities and school districts
- Hold workshops to prepare students for internship/field experience placements
- Assist students to obtain all necessary paperwork
- Assist and prepare Work Experience Teachers with the implementation and sustainability of field experience programming
- Provide participating teachers, technical assistance in the implementation of work-based learning activities

The cost of services for the 2019-20 school year under this Agreement is $65,000.

The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through the Career Technical Education Incentive Grant, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with Reach Out to implement using Inland Health Professions Coalition Work-Based Learning Protocols and Resources.
