Summary: The District is requesting approval to contract with the Carolyn E. Wylie Center to provide Crisis Intervention Services.

The Carolyn E. Wylie Center will provide Seeking Safety, Strength and Stability workshops to transitional age youth. This is a prevention/intervention program designed to simultaneously help individuals with a history of trauma and substance abuse.

It is conducted in group and/or individual format for males, females, and mixed gender groups. The treatment’s 25 topics are evenly divided among cognitive, behavioral and interpersonal domains with each addressing safe coping skills relevant to trauma and substance abuse.

The groups will be led by Master level, BA level, and ASW, MFT intern, or MSW student interns working under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician.

The term of this Agreement shall be from September 19, 2018 to June 30, 2019.

Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: There is no fiscal impact to this item.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Memorandum of Understanding with The Carolyn E. Wylie Center for children, youth, and families to provide crisis intervention services and short-term individual counseling related to interpersonal, substance use/abuse, risk assessment, and other behavioral problems.
