Proposed HS Boundaries 2021-2022.pdf
Summary: With the opening of Liberty High School scheduled for the 2021-22 school year, the need exists to identify the proposed high school boundaries to be in place at that time. Staff is proposing boundaries for each of the four comprehensive high schools as shown on the attached exhibit. The proposed boundaries have been developed through careful review and analysis of past, current and projected enrollment patterns throughout the District, as well as close consultation with the County of Riverside, City of Menifee, City of Perris and City of Murrieta planning departments to identify and analyze likely future enrollment trends due to projected development activity over the next ten years. Additionally, staff is recommending continued utilization of the “open enrollment policy” in which a student may choose to attend a school outside of his/her attendance area if space is available and if the student provides his/her transportation from home to the school of choice.

It is recommended that a Public Hearing is conducted to receive comments from the public and/or interested parties regarding the proposed boundaries. After receiving comments, it is recommended that the Board of Trustees discusses and provides direction to District staff as to the final boundaries to be brought before the Board for approval on January 15, 2020.

Candace Reines, Deputy Superintendent of Business Services will present the proposed boundaries for Perris Union High School District.
Funding: No fiscal impact.
