Summary:
|
The Perris Union High School District requests ratification of a Service-Learning Agreement with San Diego State University to provide opportunities for students at San Diego State University (SDSU) to engage in service learning within the District.
Service-Learning is a teaching method that promotes student learning through active participation in meaningful and planned service experiences in the community that are directly related to course content. Through reflective activities, students enhance their understanding of course content, general knowledge, sense of civic responsibility, self-awareness and commitment to the community.
The term of the Agreement is from March 7, 2018 through June 30, 2022.
Ratification of this Agreement is necessary as there are currently students interning within the District.
Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
