Leighton Consulting Proposal TE17-094 - PVHS Auto Shop.PDF
Summary: The Facilities Division requested proposals for geotechnical, material testing, and special inspections services for the Paloma Valley High School Auto Shop Reconfiguration Project. The Facilities Division would like to extend the contract for materials testing and special inspection services to Leighton Consulting. Title 24, Part 1, Section 4-335 requires that tests of materials for construction projects under the jurisdiction of the Division of State Architects (DSA) be performed by testing facilities acceptable to DSA. The services are being provided at an estimated project cost of
$12,978.

The ratification of the Contract Agreement with Leighton Consulting is necessary in order to meet critical project timelines and negate undue delay of the project. Ratification of this Agreement is permitted for Board approved facilities projects pursuant to Purchasing Policy.

Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment, and services.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 operating budgets funded through the Career Technical Education Incentive Grant, Perkins Grant, and the Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with Leighton Consulting for the Paloma Valley Auto Shop Reconfiguration Project, material testing, and special inspections services.
