Summary:
|
The Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) is requesting the District to provide Adult and Vocational Educational Services for students eligible under the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) Act for the 2017-18 fiscal year. The classes provided through the Perris Community Adult School are English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Education, General Education Development Diploma, and Prep/High School Diploma. The District will receive reimbursement not to exceed $15,000 to provide these classes with appropriate documentation submission with each monthly claim for payment. DPSS provides a liaison to answer questions related to the program, monitors the performance of the Perris Community Adult School (with periodic on-site visits, annual inspections, evaluations, and self-monitoring techniques), determines which persons will be served, and that the cultural and linguistic needs of ethnic participants are met, purchases tests and other materials, and will notify the school of any medically excused absences so that it may be reflected in attendance reporting.
The term of this Agreement will be July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.
Legal reference to provide services is through California Education Code 33117.5.
