Master Sergeant Frank Puebla and Chief Warrant Officer 5 B.J. Singfield, Paloma Valley High School's NJROTC Instructors, have submitted a request to send 45 cadets to represent Paloma Valley High School (PVHS) at the NJROTC Nationals at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, that will be held April 1-6, 2020. Recently, the PVHS NJROTC qualified at regionals to attend the Nationals in Pensacola, Florida. This year is the fifth time in the history of the PVHS NJROTC program in which they rated an invitation to Nationals in Florida.
The NJROTC Nationals remain the most comprehensive test of overall JROTC training and performance in existence today. This year, many of the nation's finest NJROTC units from each of the eleven Navy Areas will make themselves a part of this exciting academic, athletic and drill competition. No competition in the world of JROTC provides a better test of all-around program quality and esprit-de-corps than the "Navy Nationals."
The schools selected to attend are nominated by their Navy Area Managers, usually based on top finishes at area/state level competitions with similar rules and guidelines or possibly strong programs with a hunger to compete against the best.
Transportation has been arranged via Southwest Airlines at a discounted rate of $800 per cadet, but is less due to fundraising efforts. The group will fly from Los Angeles International Airport to New Orleans, Louisiana, where a charter bus, paid for through the NJROTC Program Office will provide transportation to the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida.
This is an overnight field trip of five (5) nights, with forty-five (45) students, and five (5) adult chaperones. Transportation will be provided via District busses from Paloma Valley High School to the Los Angeles International Airport, then via charter transportation as mentioned above. All expenses will be paid from the PVHS NJROTC ASB Account.

The cost of this item is included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through Paloma Valley High School's NJROTC Associated Student Body Account, not the General Fund.
