Summary: The District's Educational Services Department has made recommendations for updates in our district-wide course catalog. When a course is discovered to be outdated or lack sufficient information, then a request is sent to the teacher(s) to update the course. At this time we are submitting new physical education courses.

Unified Physical Education will combine students of all abilities to participate in developmentally appropriate activities including lifetime activities, physical fitness, and sports. Students will work together to increase competence and confidence in a variety of physical activities. This course has been written for grades seven through twelve.

Foundations of Physical Fitness students will learn the basic fundamentals of strength training, aerobic training, and overall fitness training and conditioning. Students will be empowered to make wise choices, meet challenges, and develop positive behaviors in fitness, wellness, and movement activity for a lifetime. This course was written for grades ten through twelve.

Both Unified Physical Education and Foundations of Physical Fitness do not meet A-G requirements as the physical education areas are not recognized by the College Board.

The Unified Physical Education course and Foundations of Physical Fitness course have been approved by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.
