Summary:
|
The Nutrition Services Department would like to renew their contract with Oak Grove Center at the Ranch to provide breakfast and lunch to their students. Currently, charter schools are not required to provide meals to low income or students in-need. The administration at Oak Grove Center at the Ranch understands that good nutrition and education go hand-in-hand. Charter schools have several options to provide meals to their students. Both Oak Grove and the District believe it is better to serve the students of our community from within the community. The District agrees to provide meals in compliance with the National School Lunch Program. Meals will be prepared and delivered daily out of the kitchen at the California Military Institute. The contract stands to generate an estimated additional $25,000 for the 2018-19 school year for the Nutrition Services Department.
The term for this agreement shall be from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.
Legal authorization for this item is Education Code 48931.
