Summary:
|
The District's Educational Services Department has made recommendations for updates in our district-wide course catalog. When a course is discovered to be outdated or lack sufficient information, then a request is sent to the teacher(s) to update the course. At this time we are submitting revised Agricultural Chemistry courses.
Agricultural Chemistry was updated to become better aligned with NGSS standards. While the current Agricultural Chemistry course is currently a UC approved D Lab course, this newer curriculum will add in more opportunities for students to learn both about agriculture and about chemistry through new lab units, all of which focus on getting students to think critically and apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, in keeping with the NGSS philosophy of preparing students to problem-solve and approach scientific problems using systematic and rational thinking. This course was written for grades ten through twelve and is part of the Agriculture Pathway.
The above courses have been approved by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.
