Summary: Oliver Petty is an inspirational speaker who provides inspirational assemblies to young people entitled, “It’s Okay to Dream.” The assemblies are structured around essential life skills that include: Ownership, Self-Awareness, Imagination, and The Success Iceberg. He will be providing these assemblies at both Pinacate Middle School and Perris High School.

In addition to inspirational assemblies, Mr. Oliver Petty will implement a student personal growth academy at Pinacate Middle School for 25-30 students that includes:

- Mr. Petty will make 30 school visits (one per week, 60 minutes per visit).
- Students will each receive a copy of Mr. Petty’s book, Win Today!
- Students will each receive a personal planner and lessons in organization.
- Students will develop a personal portfolio and a personal notebook of goals.
- Students will participate in a field trip to at least one university.
- Students will receive a Shark Tank presentation.
- Students will attend a field trip to a credit union.
- Students will each receive two business suits.
- Students will be presented with numerous guest speakers.

The cost of this service will be $18,000. The term of this Agreement shall be from September 20, 2018 to June 30, 2019.

Education Code 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2018-19 operating budget funded through Title I, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Professional Services Agreement with Oliver Petty.
