Summary: The District would like to enter into a multi-year Agreement with Nova Southeastern University, Incorporated for the development of speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, school counselors, and teachers through internships. The District will provide University students with clinical education, fieldwork or student teaching opportunities for training at District schools.

The term of this Agreement will be from January 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020.

Pursuant to California Education Codes 44321 and 44452, a school district governing board is authorized to enter into an agreement with a state university or any university or college accredited by the State Board of Education as a teacher education institution in order to provide teaching experience through many types of field experience to students enrolled in teacher training curricula.
Funding: No fiscal impact.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Multi-Year agreement with NOVA Southeastern University, Incorporated.
