Rashiid Burgo, California Military Institute Athletic Director, requests to attend the California State Athletic Directors Association (CSADA) Annual Conference in Reno, Nevada, April 16-19, 2020.
The CSADA promotes the profession of Athletic Director through fostering a higher standard of professional proficiency, establishing closer working relationships among state and national groups, providing opportunities for the continuing study and development of best practices, and encouraging goodwill and fellowship in Athletic Administration.
The California State Athletic Directors Association has been one of the biggest volunteer associations for most of its 50 plus years of existence. The mission, which has developed is to create an athletic directors’ educational organization to help increase the professionalism, knowledge and consistency of Athletic Directors in schools throughout California.
In addition to having the opportunity to attend workshops at the conference for professional growth, the athletic director's will be able to meet with vendors to plan and prepare equipment ordering needs for the next school year.
The CSADA convention will be providing empowering, passionate, inspiring and committed leadership philosophies that will begin, enhance, and complete the Athletic program. The CSADA conference will focus on several aspects of our schools which include improving the culture and climate by infusing leadership philosophies that are aligned with our athletic mission and vision.

The cost for this item is included in the 2019-20 operating budget funded through the California Military Institute Site Funds, not the General Fund.

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the out-of-state conference request for Rashiid Burgo, Athletic Director, to attend the California State Athletic Directors Association’s Annual Conference in Reno, Nevada, April 16-19, 2020.
