Summary:
|
Vavrinek, Trine and Day, LLP (VTD) was retained to provide the District with consulting services in the areas of budget, year-end closing, facilities, attendance, categorical and nutrition compliance, staff training, and advisory service, as well as coordination of multi-year projections and revenue calculations. The original Agreement was approved by the Board of Trustees on June 15, 2016 at a cost not to exceed $50,000 for the 2016-17 school year. Due to a vacancy and a prolonged medical leave, both within the accounting department, additional unforeseen expenses were incurred exhausting the current contract amount.
This addendum to the Agreement will increase the contract amount by $35,000 to cover the anticipated expenses for the remainder of the year. This addendum also now includes supervisor-level services at $188 per hour. There is no change to the term of the Agreement, which runs through June 30, 2017.
Education Code 53060: District may contract with and employ any persons for the furnishing to the special services and advice in financial, economic, accounting, engineering, legal, or administrative matters if such persons are specially trained and experienced and competent to perform the special services required.

The cost for this item is included in the 2016-17 operating budget funded through the General Fund and Nutrition Services.
