Summary:
|
The Riverside County Board of Supervisors allocated $10 million to the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) Foundation’s “All For One” campaign. The “All For One” campaign raises funds to bridge the digital divide within schools. RCOE asked each school district to collaborate and fill out a technology needs assessment survey. Perris Union High School District (PUHSD) has been in a good position in providing devices for every student and hotspots for families without connectivity. But there are still a lot of unknown circumstances that families might have including that a percentage of families might have internet in the home but that capacity is not enough for students to access some educational materials. PUHSD estimated that an additional 750 hotspots could help fill that need. This Agreement will provide $112,500.00 for the purchase of approximately 750 hot spots. The term of this Agreement shall be from September 10, 2020 to November 30, 2020. The Agreement is being brought forward as a ratification due to the need to expedite the process to meet CARES Act and RCOE deadlines.
