AMS Proposal and Piggyback Contract for 2-Story Building at PVHS.pdf
Summary: On November 15, 2017, the District entered into an Agreement with PJHM Architects for architectural services necessary to add a two-story classroom building addition at Paloma Valley High School (PVHS). Now after conducting planning meetings at PVHS to develop the floor plan that best meets the needs of the campus, the District Facilities Department has requested a proposal from American Modular Systems for this modular building. This proposal includes (1) 14,400 square foot, 180’ x 40’ two-story modular classroom building, (6) classrooms, (4) science classrooms, boys and girls restrooms, staff restrooms, low voltage room, custodial room, faculty workrooms, (2) switch back stairs, cantilevered balcony system, utility chases, and 10’ wide x 36’ long free standing skywalk. The proposal from AMS is based upon the District utilizing the provisions of the piggybackable Santa Rita Union School District Facilities Supply Services Contract. The cost of this building is $4,863,080.

Education Codes 17604 and 17605: The Governing Board delegates the power to contract and purchase supplies, equipment and services.

Legal reference for piggybackable bidding is Public Contract Code 20118.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2017-18 operating budget funded through various facilities funds, not the general fund.
